This is the fingerboard from the "Lord of the Rings" guitar.
This design was executed in 1999, before the movie came out, for a man who loves the tale, as do I.
For those of you not familiar with the story, it's the scene from the Grey Havens,
when everyone sails for Valinor, leaving Sam, Merry, and Pippin on the quay.
Ebony fingerboard. Green Abalone sea and stars, etched Mother of Pearl for the rest.

This is "The Cabin in the Cascades"
This fingerboard was made in the days before digital cameras,
so the picture is a composite of 3 photos, hence the irregularities.
Ebony fingerboard. Snow and mountains, and round stars are Mother of Pearl.
Tree foliage is Green Abalone.
Tree trunks and cabin are made of Quilted Honduras Mahogany.

9th fret, Mother of Pearl.
11th fret through end of fingerboard, Red, Green, and Blue Paua Abalone, with Mother of Pearl.
